This course is designed to address the unique psychological challenges faced by those on the front lines, including both professional first responders and individuals who find themselves in such a role unexpectedly, as well as teachers, educators, and anyone undertaking a basic first aid course.
We aim to provide comprehensive support and education on mental health in emergency response, focusing on building resilience and equipping you with practical tools to manage the mental health impacts of responding to crises.
This course is intended for anyone who wants to understand first responders’ mental health challenges and learn how to offer support. It’s a space where your experiences are acknowledged, and your well-being is prioritised.
You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health concerns in individuals and learn how to respond and provide support effectively. This course is similar to a first aid course but focused on mental health. Your role is to offer care and support until mental health professionals can take over.
