Course Delivery
This course will be delivered:
- In the workplace or at a 3 Rivers Training facility
- Online learning with face to face assessment
Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
CPR Course Duration (face to face)
- Face to Face – 2.5 hours – full face to face course
- Blended delivery – 1.5 hours (minimum) face to face course – with the addition of 1-hour self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course
- Refresher training – 1.5 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates
Enhanced Online Learning (EOL)
- Online delivery with face to face Practical assessment – self paced online learning with a scheduled 20-minute face to face practical assessment.
Plus, additional non accredited how to Manage Immunisation Emergencies face to face training and team activities minimum 1 hour.
Assessment Requirements
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.
Certificate Renewal Requirements
It is recommended that renewal for this course is undertaken annually.

Assessment Activities
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:
- Performance tasks and practical scenarios
- Perform CPR on an infant.
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
- Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions. The student must successfully complete all assessment questions.
Non accredited session includes:
Practical scenarios and team activities
- Participate in team activities
- Practice drawing up of adrenaline doses
- Assessment tool
- Risk assessment
